Fancy Leaf-Wrapped Bridal Bouquet Handles

Craftsmanship and design are two very different and distinct things. One without the other can be best described as "what could have been" instead of "that is amazingly fabulous!"

So imagine how thrilled I was when I recently saw this peony bouquet up close and in person! It was the perfect balance of both.

Leave it to wedding floral designer Karen Hsu of Grandiflora who came up with these 3 perfect examples of what I'm talking about.

When one thinks of a bridal bouquet don't you just think about the actual flowers? The way the bouquet will look coming down the aisle and in photos?

Well, Karen thinks the same and more. Taking floral "design" to the underside of her bouquets here she presents three stunning ideas.

Instead of using foliage in the more typical fashion by adding it to the bouquet, she came up with these clever ideas to create fancy handles making the underside of her bouquets as beautifully finished as the top by using leaves to cover the stems and create a finished handle as well thought out as the floral design itself.

These photos show exactly how meticulously she places each leaf to create these amazing bouquet handles!

To answer Gary's question about the leaves used in the bouquets above, from top to bottom: silverwood, dracena manssangeana, and bear grass.

Brook, the flowers in the bouquet in the middle image are stars of Bethlehem, hydrangeas, and cymbidium orchids.

Were the leaves fresh cut greens and if they were how did they hold up to a sweaty hand. I like the concept, however I am concerned about getting the green on the dress and hands.
